26. We are in the middle of Oregon
Edited on Fri Mar-21-08 02:37 PM by DeschutesRiver
and dh was about to leave for a trip to Portland, but he stayed here to watch Obama and Bill Richardson's endorsement. Had we been able to, we would have liked to been there and heard him in person.

We are not particularly politically involved or much interested most years. This is the first time we can both remember being happy about a candidate, and interested in the process, and we aren't kids (in our 50s). Never thought that would happen in my lifetime to a couple of old cynics. I know Obama will make his share of mistakes and mis-steps, but what is more important to us is that he has the ability to recognize such things, think deeply about them, and learn from them. That is all I can ask of a candidate, and turns out this young already knows those how important that is in life.

I think for the first time in my life, I will donate to candidate and perhaps even volunteer. I have done that with other things, but never anything political.
