Imagine if Congress did follow through and defunded the Iraq occupation. Since there would be no money to keep it going, Bush would be forced to remove personnel and equipment from Iraq. Obviously it's the right thing to do.

Answer me this: Since when has G.W. Bush ever done something because it was the right thing to do? You know - and Congress knows - that Bush would keep troops in Iraq underfunded and under-equipped for as long as it took to blackmail the Congress into voting for emergency funds. He's essentially said that is exactly what he would do.

Joe Biden knows it would happen. John Kerry knows it. Every Democrat in Congress knows it. Bush does not care one whit about the troops. Iraq is all about him winning and his political enemies losing. Political victory is the only thing that matters to Bush.
