http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdmLmIArqWM">I know who I wanted to take us home to the White House: John Edwards.
For all the high-fiving around here about healing and harmony, there are still a lot of us Edwards supporters who saw last night's debate very differently. Obama *should* have been more forceful about fighting the corporatist status quo.
Maybe John will endorse. Maybe the reason his campaign isn't in full-blown wind-down mode is that a deal *was* cut. I hope. God, how I hope.
This sudden rush to pair up the two remaining candidates reminds me of closing time and last call, when standards reach rock bottom, and the dregs are drained from the mugs and from the establishment.
For those who have found coyote ugly love: :toast: <-------- to beer goggles; may you always have a pair handy

Closing time - time for you to go out, go out into the world.
(Yes, go out into the world, and do the things that John and Elizabeth exhorted us to do, my friends.)
Closing time - turn the lights up over every boy and every girl.
(Yes, shed light on them before Tsunami Tuesday.)
Closing time - one last call for alcohol, so finish your whiskey or beer.
(The time for tears in our beer is now past.)
Closing time - you don't have to go home but you can't stay here.
(No, we can't stay here in a morose state. We have to wield our remaining influence for Tuesday.)
I know who I want to take me home.
(John)
I know who I want to take me home.
(Elizabeth)
I know who I want to take me home.
(Cate)
Take me home...
(To the Veep's residence, if not the White House)
Closing time - time for you to go back to the places you will be from.
(A more progressive place now that John has inspired us to our best.)
Closing time - this room won't be open 'til your brothers or you sisters
come.
(Hello, my brothers and sisters. The back room for Edwards is now open.)
So gather up your jackets, and move it to the exits - I hope you have found
a friend.
(Yeah, quite a few.)
Closing time - every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.
(Endings are but beginnings, and John helped set in motion something new and exciting.)
Yeah, I know who I want to take me home.
(John)
I know who I want to take me home.
(Wade)
I know who I want to take me home.
(Emma Claire)
Take me home...
Closing time - time for you to go back to the places you will be from...
I know who I want to take me home.
I know who I want to take me home.
I know who I want to take me home.
Take me home...
