2. Time Magazine Article on Siegelman
Edited on Thu Dec-20-07 11:56 AM by JPZenger
Here is a Time Magazine Article on Siegelman

http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1668220,00.html

The Time magazine article stresses how Republicans were found to have made some illegal contributions during the Federal investigation, but the US attorneys made no attempt to follow up upon those charges. The article includes the following quote: "The Young transcripts will probably add fuel to charges that the Bush Administration pursued selective justice in Alabama. Leura Canary, the U.S. Attorney whose office drove Siegelman's prosecution, is married to Bill Canary, Alabama's most prominent political operative and a longtime friend of Karl Rove's."
-----
44 former attorneys general of various states, including a number of Republicans, have demanded that this case be re-examined because it appears to be a mis-carriage of justice. The judge who persecuted Siegelman had been accused by Siegelman in the past of wrong-doing.
