17. It really wasn't "noteworthy"
It was a guy giving a pep talk to his soldiers in the trenches after he took a loss. Everyone who was actually there said it wasn't "noteworthy" at all. It only became "noteworthy" when it became played and played and played again with the accompanying commentary that belittled Dean like he had never had 20 other seconds of public exposure. I remember the commentary at the time well - they called him "out of control" "crazy" "demented" and every other adjective you want to throw in there.

I really believe that a concerted "electronic lynching" took place of Howard Dean. I think the whole incident should be studied and remembered well. And what was his crime? He said "ARRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!" Not an obscenity, not a slur, not anything that would change the course of human events (in a sane universe) just ARRRGGGGHHH. But saying ARRGGGHHHH to his followers meant he was not fit to be our President.

I hope he writes his autobiography and calls it "ARRRGGGHHHH - The World That Might Have Been"
