HILL-YWOOD CASH BASH IN WORKS
By IAN BISHOP

May 1, 2007 -- WASHINGTON - Hillary Rodham Clinton is getting a jump on rival Barack Obama at the box office in their political star-wars saga - with director Steven Spielberg hosting a Hollywood cash bash for Clinton later this month.

Spielberg is teaming with News Corp. President and Chief Operating Officer Peter Chernin and TV producer Haim Saban for a $2,300-per-head fund-raiser at Chernin's Santa Monica home.

Invitations to the May 30 soiree, expected to raise about $700,000, have gone to more than 300 Hollywood movers-and-shakers.

Today, Clinton is joining with U2 rocker and global activist Bono to unveil a Senate measure to expand educational opportunities for children in impoverished countries.

Celebrity heavyweights in Clinton's camp include rap producer Timbaland, Elizabeth Taylor, Playboy's Hugh Hefner, comedian Chevy Chase and former model Christie Brinkley.
