58. I enjoyed this spot, BUT
it reminded me of the clever Dukakis ads of 1988 that tickled the tummies of us urban sophisticates. . . . showing the nervous frustration of the Bush campaign sharpies as they ruefully went over Mike D's invincible political program. I knew some pretty bright people at the time who did not even realize that those spots had anything to do with politics, let alone the presidential election.

It is hard to bet against conventional wisdom sometimes, and satire is what closes out of town according to well established show bidness doctrine. Granted, this spot is pretty damned hard not to "get" -- but it is really amazing to discover how many people just get confused by comedy.

On the plus side, it is a Democratic primary electorate we're dealing with in a state with a lot urban sophisticates running around in it. We probably don't have to worry about losing the "why-is-a-man-making-coffee?" vote.

I'm cheering from the opposite coast, regardless. Go Lamont!!!
