DU is.

The only reason to share a dollar would be because ours will rise so fast and so far with exports of oil.. that all our other industries would suffer - including high tech and all the tertiary stuff that is so important to a growing economy.

The only reason to join with the US dollar would be so this industries would not suffer. So the American dollar would take the edge off our high one. So that we would not become a one industry county... aka Saudi Arabia with nothing in the way of competative industries outside of oil. And nothing in the way of wealth creation outside of primary products.

And hey. U.S.A. has some bourse issues. So it is nothing but a win/win for them. If it happens. Twenty years from now.

Why, would we then further join the U.S.A., under this WH and conservative philosophy long term, when what they are gunning for is a Saudi Arabian type economy. With lots and lots of money going to a few big industries and a few big men, and lots and lots of those industries' dollars going promote a philosophy among the people that keeps them stupid and tribalized.

Why would Canadians.. in order to get rid of the bad side effects of an oil industry.. join up with a country that has that as a philosophy?

Yeah? We wanna get with dumb! Mmmmmmm give me some of that! There are already storefront fundamentalist outreach centres. Let's learn to hate us some people who are minding their own business. Let's focus on that! Cause the system we have now.. with health care and government programs.. works pretty well for the middle class. So making us stupid isn't going to work. We've seen it. Ontario has seen it and we've seen it in the USA.

Do Canadians wanna get with a creation myth that promotes fighting & hatred.. rather than with education and enlightenment. I don't think so.

Harper can get out the smelling salts and pretend he has no interest in a closer association but there are numerous documents out there that say different. He has not faced any real opposition. And he has not impressed. All alone.. with no help from vocal partisan politicians from the the other side ... he has made mistake after another and lied.. and made shit up. It isn't going to get better once everyone starts paying attention and the other parties get going.
