Paper versus Machines -- A Free People versus a Pod People

If you smoke and you want to improve your health,
is it better to::

(A) Stop smoking altogether
OR

(B) smoke filtered cigarettes?

If you have lousy voting machines, I mean really lousy, and you want
to improve your elections, is it better to:

(A) Get rid of the lousy machines altogether and replace them with
something that actually works, real paper ballots

(B) Make the elections even more reliant on machines by:

a. Having a “voter verified paper ballot” that may or may not be
recognized by your locality and

b. Introducing the examination of source code and machine methods
for thousands of machines all over the country when competent resources
are barely available to do that job today.

Of course, you would choose PAPER. Why, because, as we all know,
YOU CAN'T PUT LIPSTICK ON A PIG.

CANADA DID AND THEY HAVE NATIONAL ELECTIONS WITH LITTLE DISPUTE,
FREE AND FAIR, OBSERVED BY ALL WHO WISH TO…AND THERE ARE NO MACHINES.

END OF STORY.
