Democrats-Country Duped?

First, I would like to point out that I am proud of the Democrats for standing up agaisnt the Dubai ports deal. I do not dislike Arabs or muslims. Mainly, I am against any country outside the US from taking over ports in the US. Second, Dubai in my opinion is not just any Arab country. This country supported the Taliban when the Taliban supported Al Qadea and numerous other countries turned their backs on the Taliban. Also, two of the nineteen hijackers came from this country. Finally, high officials from Dubai are said to have met with Osama Bin Laden.

However, were the Democrats and the country duped. I am hearing talk that Haliburton may pick up control of the ports that were to be taken over by the Dubai company. Is it possible that people within the Bush Administration realized before they put this deal forward that it would never go through? Does anyone think this was a backdoor way to get Haliburton control of these ports? At this time I am beginning to think the Democrats and this country were duped and played by the Bush Administration. It seems like the Dubai company was just a smoke screen. They were put up there because the Bush Administration knew this deal would never go through. However, if the deal did not go through maybe the Dubai company could give control to an American. Maybe they could pick the company they wanted to control the ports.
