That have been in place forever?

Until the next election, if someone were to happen to the VP, Hastert (by the constitution) gets to take that spot..



Then if for whatever reason Hastert has some problem why he can't fulfill the remainder of the term,

they roll in 80-something year old Ted Stevens..

I see all the messages about who they think he'll put in a VP Vacancy... but if Hastert is alert and healthy, would they bypass tradition and "appoint" someone?
