Candidates on Tonight Show : baby-kiss test...uh oh, Dean
Advertisements [?]
Just now on the Tonight Show they had some silly woman who was trying to get all of the candidates to kiss her baby.

* Sharpton was pretty funny about it and said, "The kid's thumbing his nose at me. He must be a Republican."

* Kucinich seemed weirded out but went along. He absolutely no entourage and no local reporters following him, though, which made him look kinda weak.

* Lieberman: No wonder Lieberman doesn't drop out. He gets to ride along with his wife in a really luxurious bus watching the countryside roll by. What fun! Anyhow he was actually pretty funny and sang, "Oklahoma!" and then did the kiss. Joe is actually pretty likable.

* Clark said, "You gotta give `em stealth kisses!" and did a French cheek-cheek kiss. Then the woman said, "Stealth kisses?" with a wrinkled nose.

* Dean...oh, God. First some supporters on the sidewalk. One guy does a horrible Dean screech impersonation that made we Deaners look foolish. Then a woman holding a Dean sign said Dean would not kiss the woman's baby, because, "He doesn't pass around germs. He's a doctor." Then the woman got rebuffed from a Dean speech for not having proper credentials. Finally they hook her up with Dean. Dean says, no joke...,"I'm gonna have to blow this kid." The woman says, "You're gonna have to do WHAT?" And Dean says again, just in case you couldn't hear, "I'm gonna have to blow this kid." Thank God he finally just gave him a kiss. I look for Michael Jackson to become a supporter though. Oh, Lord.

* Kerry: just took the baby, gave him a kiss, and said, "Are you gonna replace Jay Leno?" Very cute.

* Edwards: This guy has a rock star following. You never get to see the kind of frenzy that follows these guys. People were leaving a bowling alley because you couldn't even move from Edwards supporters. Took the baby up on stage with him, gave him a photo-perfect kiss. Good job, Mr. Vice President.

As a Deaner, I'm afraid our man...sigh...that was a horrible segment.
