Hmmm... Supreme Court Justice John Cornyn?

The more I think about this, the more sense it makes. He's from Texas. He's got a perfect rating from the American Conserv. Union. He was Attorney General of the State of Texas and a District Court Judge and State Supreme Court Justice for over 15 years. He's only 53 years old.

Cornyn was one of the few conservatives to support Miers, so by picking him Chimpy would be sending the conservatives who fought him a message. But the conservatives can't oppose Cornyn because of his record and qualifications. Plus, as a US Senator and member of the Judiciary Committee, his confirmation would be guaranteed -- Senators don't eat their own.

The only thing working against him: he's a white male. That makes it a long shot, but I wouldn't rule it out.
