18. 9-11 didn't change most people's minds, it merely reinforced the bigotries
It amplified beliefs that already existed.

Falwell saw this as god's retaliation for coddling homos and abortionists.

I saw it as another act of religious people who believe in an afterlife.

Neither of us "changed", we merely reinforced our bigotries.

Who do you want to stand with? Those who recognize their limitations and only want to address what can be seen, felt and understood by mere mortals, or those who hate all that and prize the dreamy afterlife above anything else. (Of course, this presumes that assholes like Falwell actually BELIEVE such stuff; I think HE does, but many of his fellow leveragers may or may not.)

Rove is nothing more than a calculating and unprincipled hater. Take it to the bank.
