They're all either sell-outs or empty suits. I don't want someone whose main virtue is "name recognition." I don't want someone who just "looks presidential." I don't want someone who plays buddy-buddy with Republicans and badmouths traditional Dems. I don't want someone who votes to make life more difficult for ordinary people.

I want someone with guts. I want someone who, as one of my old sig lines said, is "As wily as serpents but as innocent as doves." I want someone with a track record of standing up for the little person. I want someone who knows the difference between compromise and abject surrender. I want someone with a few "no surrender" principles. I want someone who can communicate effectively with people of all social classes. I want someone who is not afraid to state clear differences from the Republicans.

This tactic of "Let's run someone who doesn't scare the Republicans" has twice given us elections within stealable margins.
