35. I agree with Carvelle..... Dems MUST Stand for Something
Heaven forbid I agree with Carvelle... the Dems MUST stand for something other than obstructionism. It means they are losing the debate and working within the framework created by the Right.... and we all know their intent is to destroy SS.
The Dems needs to put some commonsense proposals on the table including increasing the age of retirement. It's actuarially unsound to promise benefits knowing the life span of seniors will continue to increase. I'd like to see something like a one month increase for every calendar year. In 12 years the retirement age would go up only one year.
Otherwise I think they need to drive home to the public that we already have Personal Accounts... they're called IRAs. Bush's plan has only ONE goal.... to defund SS.
