...with the combining of "other" and "undecided" in the polls? Other is as high as five percent, and includes votes (or intended votes) for Bob Barr, Ralph Nader and Cynthia McKinney. The actual "undecided" or "unsure" block is generally only one percent or less. See the problem? The media, and especially the McCain campaign, are talking about these masses of undecided voters who are going to come in droves to him in these final days. The tv news shows are buying into this bs. Again, reading between the lines shows that (by far) most of those people are third-party voters--not undecideds. Look at this sample poll from this evening, and you'll see what I mean. Notice that "other" and "unsure/undecided" are reported separately...

In a close race, the number of actual undecided voters could be an important factor. I agree with Chris Matthews that it truly boggles the mind how so many people could actually still be undecided after so many months of campaigning--and, in fact, it does appear to be highly doubtful.
