I'm a grassroots volunteer for the Obama for Change campaign in a small town

in VA (mostly a Republican state). I was in the local office making our neighbor-to-neighbor calls and I got a call I couldn't believe. The conversation went something like this:

1. Hello, could I speak to Jane Smith.
2. This is Jane Smith.
3. Hi Mrs. Smith my name is Sue Jones and I'm calling in regards to the Obama campaign for change and wonder if you have time to answer a couple questions for me today.
4. YOU DAMN DEMOCRATS NEED TO GET YOUR ASSES BACK IN CHURCH. YOU'RE NOTHING BUT BABY KILLERS AND FAG LOVERS AND OBAMA WANTS TO ALLOW THEM TO GET MARRIED . . .
5. No mam, Mr. Obama stated that . . .
6. I HEARD THE DAMN MAN ON THE TV SAY HE WAS. YOU DEMOCRATS ARE JUST EVIL, PURE EVIL.
7. I'm sorry you feel that way.
8. WELL I DO AND YOU BETTER START PRAYING FOR YOUR SOUL CAUSE YOU ALL ARE GOING TO HELL FOR KILLING ALL THE BABIES.
9. Well thank you for your time today. Will you be needing a ride to the polls.
10. HELL NO, GOD WILL MAKE SURE I GET TO THE POLLS
11. Well mam you have a blessed day.
12. YOU HAVE A BLESSED DAY AND DON'T BE CALLING HERE ANYMORE.

There was a lot more said in between in the conversation but I kept having to take the phone away from my head due to her screaming.

As a post note, the lady beside me asked me why I offered her a ride to the polls? I told her I was just trying to do the right thing and be a true Christian.
