8. Thanks a lot for the link -
I hope it gets enough recs that we can express DU opinion. I'll post what I wrote:
As an African American voter and educator I have watched this campaign season with interest, and I always appreciate the excitement of a presidential campaign and what it means to elect a new national leader.

I did support Barack Obama during this campaign season, largely because of Sen. Clinton's vote on the Iraq War and the effectiveness of Obama's preparation to work on urban issues and to move away from military solutions to international problems.

Respectfully, I urge Senator Clinton to drop out of the race at this time. The majority of pledged and super delegates have declared their preference for Obama. Staying in the race risks greater harm to the Democrat's chances in the general election and will also harm Sen. Clinton's legacy, which has taken a beating in my opinion based on negative campaigning.

My mother is a native of Arkansas and a big supporter of President Bill Clinton. She was born in Forrest City, a town named after the Ku Klux Klan, and is still a rough spot in terms of race relations. She stuck with Clinton during the Lewinsky affair and after. Due to the many race-based remarks of Senator Clinton and her surrogates, she would not support either Hillary or Bill Clinton in the future under any circumstances. This is just the tip of the iceberg for African American voters, who have largely turned away from supporting the Clintons.

Please leave the race and allow Obama to build support in anticipation of the general election, and for all to appreciate this moment in history. To concede as soon as possible would be best for the party and the country.
*******

I appreciate the opportunity for doing this - thanks again!
