The RIGHT One

I admit it. There are some “talking points” that have been raised here, over and over again - dumb, irrelevant, and insufferably whiny - and yet I just can’t resist responding to them.

One of my favorite TPs was posted yet again tonight; it's one that has been specifically directed at me in response to some of my posts several times over the past few months.

It’s a little ditty called “Who’s the RIGHT ONE?”, sung to the tune of “Why Aren’t ALL Women Supporting Hillary” – the implication being that “all women” (because we do, of course, tend to travel in herds and think, act and vote alike) should have been on the Hillary bandwagon from (dare I use the phrase?) Day One based on similarity of plumbing.

The contention of the “Who’s the RIGHT ONE?” crowd seems to be that any female not supporting Hillary is withholding their favors because they don’t actually believe that any woman is worthy of their vote. And for womanhood’s sake, let’s not get into serious discussion about policies, positions, style, or that thruthiness factor which is, after all, just another means by which The Man keeps us down.

So, for those who are yet again asking the question, “If Hillary isn’t the right one, who IS the right one,” here’s the answer.

The right one would be someone who doesn't lie about sniper-fire and then, when caught in the lie, “takes responsibility” for her words by claiming sleep-deprivation, followed by an appearance on the Jay Leno Show to make a joke about having lied.

The right one would be someone who doesn't lower herself to mentioning "hard-working WHITE Americans" in a contest with a black opponent.

The right one would be someone who doesn't play girl, the victim or the martyr when confronted with opposition relating to her statements, her policies or her conduct that have absolutely nothing to do with her gender.

The right one would be someone who doesn't claim her husband's "experience" as her own – especially while, at the same time, disavowing any involvement in her husband’s policies that later proved to be disastrous, while claiming "shared victory" in his successes.

The right one would be someone who doesn't endorse a Republican POTUS contender as being a better bet than a fellow Democrat, nor someone who dismisses her fellow Democratic contender as being “a speech he gave in 2002”.

The right one would be someone who doesn't claim to be able to successfully run a country while obviously not being able to run an even remotely successful campaign.

The right one would be someone who pledges to NOT COUNT votes in certain states and then STICKS TO HER WORD, even when she’s losing.

The right one would be smart enough to realize that if you make a federal case out of trivial nonsense like "bitter-gate", talking about "assassination" is going to come back and bite you in the ass - HARD.

The right one would be politically savvy enough to know (especially when running on the "politically experienced" platform) that a reference to races that went on into June DO NOT REQUIRE a reference to someone being murdered as a result.

The right one would be astute enough to realize that when you're stiffing small business vendors during the course of your campaign, it might not be a good idea to hold yourself out as the champion of the "little guy" who is constantly getting stiffed.

The right one would be smart enough to graciously bow out when it was overwhelmingly apparent that they COULD NOT WIN, instead of changing the goalposts every fifteen minutes, or lying about their "lead" in the popular vote and/or invoking things like "performance in swing states" and "electoral votes" - knowing full well that such numbers are not relevant in a primary race.

In essence, the right one would be everything Hillary Clinton has proven she is NOT.
