Why is this important for the Politics side of the board? Well I have posted in the past that this election has been highly manipulated and the candidates that truly scared the powers that be were removed, early on. It was done skillfully and many partisans don't even realize how skillfully it was done. I guess silly season has truly blinded partisans.

Anyhow, today Malloy played Rush essentially inciting riots during the Convention. In case any of you youn'ins wonder about this (and I am among you but know the history), this is exactly what the Chicago Seven were convicted off, inciting a riot.

Now, I'd like all of you to step back for a second from the rancor of this campaign, which truly plays into grandpa's hands, and ask why?

Once you do that... the answers are quite uncomfortable... and knowledge is important here, as well as understanding. If we do have a riot in Denver (or for that matter at the REPUBLICAN CONVENTION) there are a series of President Executive Orders that could come into place, and they include martial law. Is this dramatic? Absolutely... but I have argued in the past that silly season this year is truly window dressing... and I truly hope a convention so quiet, it will put to shame a Carmelite Convent under SILENT rules... why? The worst mistake we can make is play into Rush's hands or others who NEED civil unrest.

For the moment Operation Chaos raises questions... not that this kind of strategic voting is not done in other countries... but it still raises questions.

Now go back to your scheduled fur fight. I just thought this was important enough to waste one of my three daily posts, and lord knows I try to avoid this board. But perhaps this reality check will bring some of you back from silly season and make you realize that there is more to this than just who gets to play smacking ball to manipulated elections by the media and others.
