And here's the bit about the delgate situation.

At the weekend Mr Kerry acquired enough party delegates to confirm that he will be the Democratic challenger in November. The nominee needs a simple majority of the 4,322 delegates at the Boston convention in July.

He picked up the last 162 needed thanks to the support of "super delegates" who vote at the convention because of their prominence in the party. He also had a primary victory in Kansas.
