What have you seen that stands markedly against Paglia's assessment?
I agree Paglia was more condescending than required, but if you look at the basic criticism, is she that wrong?

-- not a woman who has any ability to deal with the Mass of humanity
-- arrogant, moralistic, sermonizing and annoying.

I will go along with the first, and pass on the second, but I could see where she arrived at that opinion.
