I think his talents are best used when he's trying to be ridiculous as in that letter. This is certainly lost on many Bushies. I can just imagine a thread over at Free Republic gasping with disdain at how Moore thinks all the Iraqis should be killed.

I agree his work occasionally has serious flaws, but his weird humor I don't think is one of them.

I agree with you though that it's hard to find a point in that letter. My best guess would be that Moore is responding to Bush's ludicrous position with one equally ludicrous, but he could have done a better job at it.
