Baker was in the White House, working low-profile, as of some time this past spring or so.

Presumably, he's working on SOMETHING.

Maybe I'm wrong on that. Maybe he isn't doing a damned thing. Maybe he's remodeling the patio deck. Tinkering with the landscaping a little. Re-thinking the petunias' color scheme. Using the White House as a temporary office while he pingpongs back and forth to tag sales in the DC area.

A subtle, refined cultural polymath, that Jim Baker.

As loathsome has he certainly is, he's not unintelligent. It might be a good thing if someone who doesn't have bean mesh for brains were to advise this president regarding the conduct of his office.
