24. "Bitch slap"?
Edited on Sun Jun-25-06 09:58 PM by omega minimo
I don't expect anyone to agree and I don't expect to get flamed for that reason. It's an observation that may matter in the interest of the party. Or not.

I share your excitement about this and was eagerly reading your OP-- this is the big news of today. He WAS president today. He earned my vote too.

I know the term is used here and elsewhere including AAR. I am not trying to change anyone's attitude or behavior.

I am simply going to say that when I read through and got to "bitch slap" it put the brakes on my interest and enthusiasm and made me feel a bit ill-- as if I was black and read n-----r; as it I'd been slapped.

DU Rules use the phrase "cheapens the discourse for everyone." That's a good way of putting it. The use of that phrase discredits what you have to say. It's a sad reminder of the divisive wedge that sexism still serves for the Dark Side.

IMHO. :hi:

edit (actually "bitch slap" is a phrase that has been smacked down off the DU boards after enough people protested that it was offensive, some time ago........................................)
