DLC voted differently on Roberts

The Senate confirmed Roberts as Supreme Court Justice on 9/29/2005. There were 78 votes in favor and 22 opposed.

The Democratic Party was split over the vote. There are 44 Democrats in the Senate, meaning 22 voted for Roberts and 22 against. Therefore, 50% of Democrats voted against him. 100% of Republicans voted for him.

However, if you break down the votes for Roberts between the DLC Democrats and the non-DLC Democrats, there is a striking difference.

9 out of 25 non-DLC Democrats voted for Roberts. That is 36%.
Meanwhile, 15 out of 19 DLC Democrats voted for Roberts. That is 68%.

It's a shame that there are so many in the Party who vote along with the Republicans. More often than not, these culprits can be found in the DLC.

As a side note, there is a very interesting coincidence when looking at these numbers. The 68% figure is actually exactly halfway between the 36% figure and the 100% figure. In other words, in this case, DLC-ers voted exactly halfway between the rest of the Democrats and Republicans. It is almost a sign, telling us that the DLC are the Republocrats.

You can see a summary of other DLC votes versus non-DLC votes here:
