18. Way ta go!!!
I'm going to liberate this for my blog -- thanks!

While I never served, I come from a long line of those who did -- back to the French & Indian Wars, the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Civil War -- Union, WWI, WWII, my first husband served during Korea, my second during the early 60s -- all of his brothers during Nam -- I had three sons on active duty when 9/11 happened.

I've seen the damage to friends and relatives and appreciate their service; I didn't support VietNam, once I got past the propaganda of "domino theory," and I've never supported Iraq as I don't believe in preemptive strikes and never believed the reasons given were satisfactory. Somehow, I just never believed that Saddam posed a direct threat to me and mine here in the U.S. Subsequent information has proven that it was worse than that. I really believed that the tribal and religious differences would cause Iraq to fall to civil war -- I've not changed my mind. Civil wars are the ugliest wars fought.

I don't support any war lightly as it'll be "my people" who'll be ass-deep in crap.
