According to a notice on this site, Peter J. Merola is responsible for Zeitgeist, which appears to have started out as multimedia work.

Zeitgeist is an evening of Multimedia work for
Live Solo Percussion, Stereo Video Displays and Electronic Music.

The work is an abstract exploration of personal belief,
social myth & institutional fraud. This performance is not for profit, and is considered an act of public service for the purpose of informational awareness—coupled with an elaborate and ambitious artistic expression though music, video and live performance.

Also, the snip that Google has currently cached for Peter J. Merola's website when you search on the terms merola and zeitgeist, has him associated with the film. Yet his site currently makes no mention of the film. One wonders if Merola is trying to distance himself from the film.
