This assault has been prepared for weeks and IDF/govt chose to use this method while other "acceptable" strategies were possible and easier to apply. The idea of the operation has a lot to do with the presence of activists close to the Hizb al Ikhwan al Muslimeen. They simply preferred catching some activists instead of forcing the ships to simply stop. The very high cost of the operation is the lives of many people who, actually, were defending their illegally assaulted ship since IT WAS STILL NAVIGATING IN INTERNATIONAL WATERS!

Israel clearly chose the option we saw today. It wasn't anyhow forced to act that way. We should never put a State at the same level than a group of activists.
