...so obviously, occupations are not by fiat illegal. Israel occupies the W.Bank as a result of winning the territory in a defensive war. There's nothing illegal about it and UNSCR 242 is very clear that this legal occupation should not end until peace is negotiated and agreed upon by the major powers involved.

Whether occupation or settlements are immoral is a different issue altogether and has nothing to do with their legality.

It's amazing that some otherwise bright liberals here are incapable of grasping this and are trapped in such a closed mindset.
