... and apparently plugged in Tinley every time after my initial read.

Anyway, no fan of Da Mayor. Or "Shortshanks" as the coppers I know call him.

He rules by fiat with his pets in the city council rubber stamping most anything he wants. He sees the residents of Chicago and business owners as his own personal "fine-bots" placed here to shore up his budget. He sold us out to Morgan Stanley so now we pay our parking fees to a hedge fund. A 75 year contract all for what amounts to 6 months worth of operating budget. It's like having your marker turned over to a juice collector.

I've always been ambivalent to the hand gun ban. Now I lean toward repeal. Heck, I may or may not have a 9mm locked away in my home in violation of the law. My copper friends tell me if I ever get pinched I would likely get a slap on the wrist. I'm more worried about it being stolen than anything. I may even obtain a CCW if Illinois goes that route. CCws are a position I have changed, in no small part, due to debates I read here.

Where I part company with the pro-gun people is there knee-jerk opposition to sensible laws to prevent straw buyers purchasing unlimited amounts of weapons from south suburban shops to fuel the gang wars. My parents were friends with the (murdered Chicago officer) Ceriale family so my opinions on that were shaped by the investigations that showed how an inordinate amount of weapons used in shootings, including Ceriale's, were sold at the same handful of south suburban gun shops.
