6. My city recently made an intersection a 4 way stop that had been an arterial.
At first, stop signs were placed in the center of the street that was a through street. Now they put up the stop signs in the normal places, but around the edge are flashing red lights which are powered by a solar panel. The emergency sirens throughout town are also solar powered. Solar power can and should be used and is only limited by our imagination. It is free for the taking and does not involve converting food crops using processing plants and oil into fuel. Solar power does not deplete our soil and suck up our water resources. It is a simple process and right now I am using a solar oven to cook my dinner.
