I didn't know what country it was made in, but the extremely low price should have given me a clue.

It looked, in every way, exactly like a real can opener, except that it would not open a single can.

They probably already put the real can opener manufacturers out of business by flooding the market with their facsililies at 1/3rd the usual price.

I didn't starve to death because I had a US made Buck knife, and a hammer, and nothing blew up.

I'm guarding that knife with my life...
