1. About 40 miles away is Panna Maria, TX

(the oldest Polish community in the country) where Cheveron operated a uranium mine. Almost immediately after operations began, levels of radioactivity spiked in the drinking water. The experience with Panna Maria and the many problems afterwards are what has Goliad so adament against it.
