I would not expect 99% to kick in until someone is making billions.

I consider money to be abstract. It's not an accurate measurement of anything. What we really are concerned about is labor.

And what I see is that labor truly drives civilization, not the rich. All the rich do, if anything, is organize the flow of labor. But even that is in question. Most people who are good at what they do are driven by their love for the work, not by the money. In fact when money gets involved in something sometimes people lose their love for it.

But money could still be a motivator under a progressive tax system and that's what the original article was trying to say. Most people just want to get ahead of the Jone's but they don't necessarily care how far ahead they are.

But I'm still digressing here because a progressive tax system would barely affect 90% of us.

(Edit: I guess we're starting to go around in circles, sorry if I'm repeating myself)
