58. Well, that's because Gore "wasn't" President
If he was, first of all, we probably wouldn't have had 9/11, and secondly, if we had, he'd have been able to go right to his playbook, having served on the aptly nicknamed "Gore Commission" on airline safety, and having been privy to the findings of the Hart/Rudman Commission on Terrorism Preparedness.

Gart Hart was calling Condi Rice up until the week before 9/11 trying to get her to pay attention to the possibility of a massive terrorist attack.

The reason we've heard that is because of a) how Gore was portrayed by the right-wing media, and b) because President Gore didn't have the bully pulpit, the Bush bastards did instead.

As I said above, people want to feel safe. Enough people are less interested in reprisal than safety to swing the election to any candidate.

An issue of "efficiency" at the Pentagon, the most highly funded military operation in the world, one that couldn't find one trillion dollars in an audit, is one that will resonate with safety and security and efficiency seeking voters.

We've been driven by fear for three years under Captain Unelected, and frankly, most people I talk to on every part of the political spectrum, are tired of it.

Reining in waste at the Pentagon and turning the savings into a stronger society is an issue that will resonate with more voters than the Neanderthals who will resist it.
