But my absolute most favorite racing f_ck-up has to be Nigel Mansell in the 1991 Canada Grand Prix: He had built such a tremendous lead (around a minute or so) that he turned the final lap into sort of a victory lap, slowing down and waving to his fans. Only problem was, he let his revs drop too low and stalled the engine, losing the race.
