14. I did several 800 mile days on a cross-country trip.
About 16 hours a day, with stops for bathrooms, gas, and meals. I was headed west, and would pick up a time zone a day.

I've driven across the country three times, but this was the only time I did it alone.

The primary reason I drove so long is that I could see no reason to stop and stay in a motel until I was really tired. There isn't a lot to see in the middle of the country anyways.
