41. Thousands of words in the "official" Webster's Dictionary weren't in it a century ago.
However, through years of common practice use, they were slowly and eventually added as part of the official lexicon.

"Snuck" being a past (participle) tense form of "sneak" is one of them.

Other words were added after being invented through technological use. "Google" is an example.

It's been defined as a verb meaning to use an internet search engine, notably the engine of the same name. "He decided to google the phrase 'lexicon'." It didn't exist in the Merriam-Webster dictionary 10 years ago. The word "google" became an official term in MW in 2001.

Consider the term "phreaker". It was added to the official MW lexicon in 1984. It means a person (a hacker usually) that gains access to a telephone system.

I expect the word "tweet" to be updated in a few years. It currently is a noun that means a chirping note. I think in a few years, a verb form will be added that states it is the method of communicating on the internet messaging system Twitter.
