Okay, I'm a cube rat who works in social services. Normally, that ties me to the office. Tuesday, however, I got to go out to the local community college campus, to help our clients who are taking courses to prepare themselves to re-enter the workforce. We do things like pay for tuition, books, parking permits, etc.

Anyway, it had been almost 3 years since I'd been anywhere near a college campus. I'd forgotten the wonderful energy of a college campus, how optimistic and hopeful everything seems there.

But I also noticed the, uh, odd fashion choices of the younger students.

Granted, in my college days, we dresssed pretty strangely, too.

But you gotta wonder about a girl (18 or 19 is just a girl to me, and not a woman; further evidence I'm getting old) who chooses to wear Ugg boots, a skirt so short that glimpses of "cheek" can be seen at points in her stride, and a Hello Kitty sweatshirt.

I mean, WTF?!?!?!?!
