One of the polling places in our county had these 3 real pro-life, 'guns, God and Bush' types 'informing' voters about the 'evil Democrats' outside the polling place. They violated the State's '100 feet' rule by being too close, and the judges of election asked them to move. They refused, and the judges called the Sheriff's Department for help in enforcing the law. I was dispatched and arrived about 10 minutes later.

I conferred with the judges who are, by the way, officers of the circuit court and (legally) my bosses, and then I went and spoke to the Freepers. I asked them politely to move back to where they were told, and they refused, saying that they were on 'private property', and that neither I nor the judges could tell them to move. I made my request into an order, which they also ignored. I then placed all 3 under arrest for disorderly conduct and violation of the Election Code and took them to the county jail, where they remained until about an hour ago. Seems the presiding judge (a Democrat) couldn't be located and, when located, said he'd set bond 'as soon as I get there', which was almost 6 hours later.

It felt GOOD, folks!
