Ago at age 47. It isn't always easy because I still have to prepare various meats for family. I also live in south Texas, which means there are not many vegetarians.

After awhile, it wasn't too bad, though. I went through several weeks of dreaming about food. But I was amazed at how much energy I had by not eating meat. My skin looked younger also.

At this time, I occasionally have a small portion of chicken breast if I am travelling or visiting family and can't get enough protein on my own. I also eat alot of eggbeaters with an egg white mixed in (it is cheaper this way), and occasionally have salmon.

On a more personal issue, I discovered that any red meat makes my butt burn, so it is a good thing I gave it up.
