I like - no, I need - my solitude. An occasional visit from a friend is nice, but I stress the concept of occasional. On an ongoing basis I hate to live so close to other people that I can see and hear their comings and goings. Got nothing against my neighbors, we're all on friendly terms in passing, but I just don't like the proximity. Suburban living is a purely temporary situation for me, until I can finally move to the middle of nowhere. But I would honestly shoot myself before I ever went back to apartment/condo living.
