but have had two female dogs and it is major surgery. They were quiet the first day or so and in pain. They can't jump or run around for a few days and watch that they don't pull at the stitches. Mine didn't but sometimes they have to wear one of those funny looking collars so they don't lick or bite it. I don't remember for sure but I think they had an antibiotic to take. Be prepared for lots of lap holding. When the males were neutered they came out of it like nothing happened, just glad to be home again.
