28. What a find! For both you and Little One.
Years ago we had a small tabby and white cat sneaking in to eat kibble from Mr. Ticket's (our big male cat) bowl. He ate in the laundry room on the dryer so the dog couldn't eat his food, and my husband had put in a cat door to the outside. The little cat was not too shy and I patted her and discovered that she was nursing kittens, so I followed her down the sidewalk and across the street to where she stopped. I asked a man working in his yard if he knew where she lived and he explained that his neighbors had moved a couple of weeks before, leaving their sofa on the veranda to be picked up later. He said she had two kittens who slept behind the pillows at the ends of the sofa. Fortunately the kittens had been old enough to be weaned, but the vet told me to feed her cheap kibble to help her produce less milk and 'dry up'. The neighbor thought the people came back for their sofa and took the kittens hidden in it but didn't bother to wait for the mama cat! So, she became ours, we had her spayed, and she had a normally long life. She was a sweet little cat, her size may have been stunted by having kittens after her first heat. We called her Tid-Bit but mostly Bitty.

When you receive an animal in this kind of mysterious way it seems like they sensed somehow just who would help them.
