62. Your art is doing what all good art does then.
It's making people think, and just maybe making someone confront something about themselves in the process. In your mom's case she's obviously uncomfortable not with the art itself, but what it represents. I don't know your family situation, but it might be an opening to discuss the real issue behind her comments. If not then it's really her loss.

In the end, while I'm sure you'd like her approval, both artistically and otherwise, you need to keep doing your art in whatever way makes you happy. Ultimately, you're the only audience that counts.

Personally, I think your art is very cool.
