We moved from Shokan (outside of Woodstock) to Maine about 3 yrs ago. My husband and I both went to New Paltz and got married at Mohonk Mtn House. He grew up in Dutchess County. I was born there, but bounced around from NY to Texas because of my mom and dad's divorce. There is so much to do around the area as others in the thread have said. The rail trail is great for hiking and biking, Mohonk and Minnewaska are a lot of fun too. My husband climbs, so the Gunks were pretty much his life. We miss it a lot. Our whole family still lives in Dutchess County.
