67. They always ask me,

"Is that okay?" or they usually do, and I don't care if it's a bit over if I think I can eat it / use it before it goes bad. Like others said, I am still getting what I am paying for, not a higher price for a sale item or anything like that.

When I get something mis-rung at a higher price, I will go get my difference back before I leave the store. Just to show them, one more customer is paying attention, and I'm sure the management thinks it looks bad, so if they do 'that sort of thing' on purpose, it discourages them from continuing if people don't take it lying down.

I don't see it as a regular problem at my regular stores, but we used to have a K-Mart here where pretty much everything rang up higher than the marked price. When I checked out and spoke up the cashier would just take the item, set it aside, and say 'well, you don't have to buy it then.'

Needless to say, I marked that K-Mart off my Places to Go list!

(I guess that makes me a Whiner!)

And Furthermore! How about the stores that don't even want to give you a receipt? When I ask our local health food store for my receipt they look at me like I am from a different planet. But I always do, because you see, I bought three items there once and they rang me up for an extra $4.00 item, and I was the only one near the checkout counter so it wasn't like they were busy or anything. I'm afraid in that particular case I do not believe it was accidental.
