It is within three weeks of the end of the semester and the student excuses are rolling in. My experience is that they get more and more creative as we count down to finals week. So far this guy is in the lead! Note: you will love the spelling!
Dear professor K___,
I haven't been in class for some time not of my own free
will. Let me tell you the story. I was walking my dog on
saturdya night, the night is the only time when I am free
to do this, and it started raining out of nowhere. I took my
shirt off in this now wet 19 degree environment and put it
on my dog to try and keep him warm and dry. I walked
the 13 long blocks back to my house, (there's a bike
path I take when I walk my dog that is 29 blocks long on
a rugged terrain, i figure if he can't do his business in
that amount of time, then he never will do it in the
house,) but I moved slower because I was carrying my
dog. You can probably guess what happened, I got
really sick. When I went to the doctor, I found out that I
had lyranjitus, broncitus, and symptoms of amonia. The
doctor didn't want me developing amonia, because that
would be a long term treatment process. I was
hospitalized that monday before thanksgiving and part of
tuesday. I was on medication that had me sleeping 18+
hours a day. I had a horrible thanksgiving, I couldn't eat
anything, and I couldn't even go shopping. I couldn't
leave my room, unless i had to go to the bathroom,
which i needed help opening and closing door. I was
extremely waek and vulnerable in my state, and couldn't
do anything. I am feeling better now, and am almost
done with my medication. I won't be in class on this
coming tuesday because i need to go to the doctor for
hopefully my last checkup, or what i like to call it,
interogation. I know i missed my presentation dates, and
ther's nothing i could do to make up those grades, but if i
could do any extra work, or anything, to give me a
passing grade, just let me know.
thanks for listening and caring, and for being such a
good teacher,
sincerely, J___ O___
Ummm, it doesn't rain at 19 degrees, it freezes. I'm a professor, remember?
